Architetto e scenografo. Laureato nel 1982 in Architettura a Napoli,  inizia la sua attività come ricercatore e progettista e a partire dagli anni ’90 lavora come scenografo per il cinema ed il teatro.

Nel 1988 il suo progetto di restauro e riadattamento della Chiesa di Sant’Aniello a Caponapoli, redatto per dare una sede stabile alla compagnia teatrale Teatri Uniti, ha vinto il premio della Comunità Europea (CEE) per “Progetti pilota nel campo del restauro”. Ha svolto ricerche nell’ambito degli studi urbani, pubblicando il libro “Oltre le Facciate”, e studia da tempo il rapporto tra architettura teatro e cinema. Ha insegnato presso la Facoltà di Architettura dell’Università Federico II di Napoli (2006-2009) ed è stato  docente  nell’Accademia di Belle Arti di Reggio Calabria (2015-2022) dove ha avuto la cattedra di Scenografia.

Ha collaborato con diversi registi, in particolare con Mario Martone, per il quale ha firmato numerose scenografie cinematografiche fin dall’esordio nel 1991 con Morte di un Matematico Napoletano, lavorando poi per L’Amore Molesto, Teatro di Guerra, Il Giovane Favoloso, Capri Revolution, Qui rido io. I film a cui ha partecipato sono stati in concorso nei principali festival del cinema, e le sue scenografie hanno vinto numerosi premi. Per il teatro ha progettato soprattutto le scene di commedie musicali ed opere rock , tra cui la prima edizione italiana di Jesus Christ Superstar con la regia di Massimo Piparo, replicata con successo da oltre venticinque anni nei teatri italiani ed europei con vari riallestimenti, a partire dalla prima edizione realizzata nel 1994 per Taormina Arte al Teatro Greco.

Architect and set designer. Graduated in 1982 in Architecture in Naples, he began his activity as a researcher and designer and since the 90s he has been working as a set designer for cinema and theater.

In 1988 his project of restoration and readaptation of the Church of Sant’Aniello in Caponapoli, drawn up to give a permanent home to the theater company Teatri Uniti, won the European Community (EEC) award for “Pilot projects in the field of restoration”. He has carried out research in the field of urban studies, publishing the book “Oltre le Facciate”, and has long studied the relationship between architecture, theater and cinema. He has taught at the Faculty of Architecture of the Federico II University of Naples and since 2015 he has been a professor of Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts.

He has collaborated with several directors, in particular with Mario Martone, for whom he has signed numerous film sets since his debut in 1991 with Death of a Neapolitan Mathematician, then working for Nasty Love (L’Amore Molesto from Elena Ferrante’s novel), Teatro di Guerra, Leopardi (Il Giovane Favoloso), Capri Revolution, The king of laughter (Qui rido io).  The films in which he participated have been in competition at major film festivals, and his sets have won numerous awards.  For the theater he designed above all the scenes of musicals and rock operas, including the first Italian edition of Jesus Christ Superstar directed by Massimo Piparo, successfully replicated for over twenty-five years in Italian and European theaters with various rearrangements, starting from the first edition made in 1994 for Taormina Arte at the Greek Theater.
